Link of the Month
The New Year is a time for resolutions and goal setting so it only seems fitting that we feature the website of the Special Needs Planning Group this month. The group assists families to establish plans that will provide their special needs family members with a decent quality of life for their entire lifetime. Although the website is mainly focused on financial planning, it offers other resources that may also be of interest to families, including information about the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) along with planning tools and techniques.

Kids Helping Kids ... Our Skate-A-Thon is Coming Soon!
We hope our new home page photo will remind you that plans are underway for Community Living's annual Skate-A-Thon. The Skate-A-Thon will hit the ice again this March with schools participating from around the City of Kawartha Lakes. Currently ten schools are signed up to participate in the Skate-A-Thon this spring and we are looking for more!
Because skating isn't a good fit for every group, we also offer schools the alternative of hosting a Dance-A-Thon. Three of our ten schools have opted to dance the day away!
The Skate-A-Thon is an important fundraiser and one of our ongoing activities that demonstrate so well participation and understanding in the community.
Watch these pages more information about the Skate-A-Thon or contact Merla at Community Living Kawartha Lakes, (705) 328-0464.
