Community Living Kawartha Lakes Hosts Canadian Alliance for Development Initiatives and Projects (CADIP)
KAWARTHA LAKES- Community Living Kawartha Lakes is hosting a Canadian Alliance for Development Initiative & Projects (CADIP) work camp project, August 6-26, 2006. A typical work camp project involves 10 to 20 volunteers from Canada & abroad aged 18 to 30, who come together to spend around three weeks united by a common goal - to donate their voluntary work for a useful project for the local community, gain a better understanding of different cultural views and lifestyles and to foster a tolerant attitude.
Community Living Kawartha Lakes is pleased to host these volunteers and will utilize their time in several different ways. We plan on having them assist with home maintenance, interior improvement projects and garden beautification work at our group homes, to name a few planned projects. These projects will directly benefit the clients that Community Living Kawartha Lakes supports.
Community Living Kawartha Lakes will welcome 12 CADIP volunteers, from Canada, France, Germany, Spain & Mexico to the community on Tuesday, August 8th with a luncheon to be held at 33 Lindsay Street, 12 noon. Everyone is welcome! We invite you to join us.
Canadian Alliance for Development Initiatives and Projects (CADIP) is a non-profit Canadian organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It has no religious or political affiliation. Through various charity, volunteer and youth initiatives, Cadip promotes peace, cooperation, tolerance and understanding in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and international surroundings. The organization also promotes patterns and examples of civil activities focused on serving others, on building social ties and strengthening communities, on supporting civil society development.
