Thank You for your Virtual Support
I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped with my work to keep the Community Living website relevant and current. It is hard to believe that I have been taking care of the website's content now for more than three years and I will certainly miss working with Community Living's finest staff members, volunteers and the people they support. I could have not done my work without the support and input of these important people. And, of course, the website could not have grown and flourished without the support of webmaster and techno-wizard, Peter Robson. This website truly is a team effort.
As of April 1st, I will be handing over the online reins to Community Living Kawartha Lake's Communications Coordinator, Catherine King. Be sure to keep in touch with her so that she can continue to keep the Community Living website dynamic, relevant and real to the people who turn to it for information and inspiration. As always, Catherine will rely on you to keep her up on the news that make our website great to visit!
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Kristin D. McKinnon-Rutherford

Are You Ready for the Summer?
We decided that this month's new home page photo should serve as a reminder that summer is just around the corner. Traditionally a time to relax and enjoy the many leisure and recreational opportunities available in our communities, summer can be a particularly daunting time for families of children with special needs. For many of these parents, it is a challenge to find leisure and recreational activities for their children that are accessible and affordable - making planning vital.
If you are a parent facing this challenge, be sure to read Evan's Story - Tips on Arranging Summer Activities.

Link of the Month
Continuing with our theme of summer and family support, we decided to spotlight our own Family Pages as our link of the month this April. Our Family Pages feature information of interest to parents and caregivers, including advocacy resources, planning resources, hints and tips, and links. To visit our Family Pages, just choose the link on the top of this page or click here.
Please keep in mind that this is a growing section and we need your input to make our Family Pages better. If you have any resources, information or tips to share - or perhaps a personal story from which we could all learn - please get in touch.
