Traditionally, Community Living has been known in the community as Arc Industries - a workshop environment for individuals with intellectual challenges. In pursuit of our mission and vision, we have built on our years of experience and now provide two community services that are of value to local businesses:
- Contract Work to Jobs'R'Us - Assembly and sorting services are delivered to employers on a contract or as-needed basis. You might use this service for collating of packages, mail preparation and delivery services , labeling, or assembling simple packages.
- Job Placement & Coaching - We have up to forty individuals available for work in the community providing services such as housekeeping, laundry, bed-making, shelf stocking, gardening, snow removal, janitorial work, food service, piecework, filing and woodworking.
When companies work with CLKL, they receive the support of qualified professionals who assist in placing the best individual in the best environment, provide on-the-job coaching to ensure that employer expectations are met, and assist with future recruiting and job coaching as required. Employers with a need for project work can also use CLKL's contract services, which can be delivered on-site or at our Lindsay facility. Services are available year-round, and are currently enhanced through the Job Coaching Program with funding from Human Resources Development Canada.
